Completing its 75 season during the 2024 year Little Lake Theatre has been a long-standing entertainment venue for live performances. The Lake has plays targeting all different aged audiences. A large collection of playbills and photographs are available at the museum for interested parties.
Well-known artist and handyman Force Dunlevy has left a strong legacy with his photographs. He captured landscape, structure, and people with equal fervor. These images were donated to the JCHS museum just this year by members of the Dunlevy family.
The Greater Canonsburg area has a long musical history. The Winter 2024 display captured some of the best known artists of the region
Canonsburg was a center for pottery production in the United States from the turn of the 20th century until late in the 1970s. A variety of patterns that were manufactured and decorated locally were on display. Items and history from the Canonsburg China Company, Canonsburg Pottery Company, and W. S. George Pottery Company were all included.
Since the 1940s Mirisciotti Photography has been capturing the people and events of the area. They are best known as a photographer for yearbook photos and bridal packages, but offer a full range of photographic services.
For the first half of 2023 we honored and remembered those who engaged in the coal mining industry. The museum display exhibited tools, pictures and stories related to that familiar local trade.
